MANILA, Philippines - The body of a Special Action Force (SAF) policeman who had been absent without official leave (AWOL) three months ago was found in a plastic container fished from the Caloocan river Tuesday.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Jude Santos said the body of Police Officer 1 Anfilrey Ryan Agbalo, 34, bore gunshot wounds in the head and body.

Residents of Phase 12 in Tala found the container, sealed with packing tape, floating in the river at around 10 a.m. They retrieved the container and found Agbalo’s decomposing body.
