MANILA, Philippines - A 40-year-old businessman was robbed and shot dead by his friend in Sta. Ana, Manila Tuesday night.
Crisostomo Busano was driving his motorcycle after collecting the earnings of his computer shop when his friend, convicted robber Jake Alvarez, stopped him and chatted with him along Onyx street at past 9 p.m.
Witnesses said Alvarez suddenly drew a gun on Busano and shot him at least four times. The suspect then climbed to the roof of a nearby house and escaped.
The victim’s widow, Julieta, told police her husband usually collects at least P10,000 every night from his computer shop business. However, the bag where the earnings were kept was missing, Senior Police Officer 1 Alonzo Layugan said.
Witnesses said Alvarez is an old friend and gang mate of the victim. Busano reportedly belonged to the Bahala Na Gang but reformed and started a legitimate business.
