MANILA, Philippines - Three brothers and their friend are facing charges after they allegedly robbed and raped a 19-year-old girl in Novaliches, Quezon City before dawn Monday, police said yesterday.
Two of the Canengneng brothers – Benjamine, 23; and Jerome, 18 – have been arrested but a third brother, 20-year-old Mario, and a companion identified only as Michael remain at large.
Superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo Jr., commander of the Quezon City Police District Station 4, said the victim was walking in Sierra Vista Subdivision, Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon when four men on two motorcycles blocked her path at around 2 a.m. Monday.
Michael allegedly approached the victim and robbed her at gunpoint. He also was the one who allegedly raped the girl.
Pedrozo said the commotion was noticed by patrolling village watchmen, who chased the suspects. They caught Benjamine, who led police to Jerome.
They yielded two motorcycles that may have been used in the robbery, Pedrozo said.
