Jailers prepare recovery room for Ivler
MANILA, Philippines - The jailers of road rage murder suspect Jason Ivler have prepared two rooms in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City where he can recover after undergoing surgery to reverse his colostomy.
The Special Intensive Care Area (SICA) of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology assured Judge Luisito Cortez of Regional Trial Court Branch 84 that there are enough facilities for Ivler’s recovery. This was one of the conditions imposed by Cortez when he allowed Ivler’s hospital confinement for the reversal of his colostomy so he can defecate normally.
In a letter to the court, Senior Inspector John Conrad Basilio said the SICA has two infirmary rooms for the medical treatment of inmates. He said the rooms are equipped with a bed and stocked with medical supplies. There is also an on-call jail nurse and a surgeon.
The court has yet to receive any manifestation from Ivler’s camp on the result of his colostomy reversal scheduled Monday at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center.
A colostomy was performed on Ivler after he was injured when he shot it out with his captors in 2010.
Ivler is facing murder charges for allegedly shooting Renato Victor Ebarle Jr. in a road altercation in 2009.
