Court orders Ivler's hospital confinement
MANILA, Philippines - A court has ordered the confinement of road rage murder suspect Jason Ivler in a government hospital in preparation for surgery to reverse his colostomy.
Judge Luisito Cortez of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 84 ordered the transfer of the accused to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center yesterday.
Cortez issued the order after the suspect complied with the conditions imposed by the court.
A report submitted by Ivler’s doctor said the reversal of the murder suspect’s colostomy is necessary to allow him to defecate normally.
The surgery to reverse his colostomy is scheduled on Monday. He underwent colostomy after he was injured following a shootout with his captors in January 2010.
Ivler is currently detained at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City. He is accused of shooting Renato Victor Ebarle Jr in a traffic altercation in 2009.
Doctors first asked for Ivler’s hospital confinement in May 2010.
