NBI expects P24-million savings on rental fees with new building

- Sandy Araneta -

MANILA, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation expects to save some P24 million in savings on rental fees every year with the construction of the P100-million four-story NBI Clearance Building inside the bureau’s main headquarters along United Nations Avenue in Manila.

The NBI Clearance center used to occupy the entire fourth floor of Victory Mall prior to its transfer to the main headquarters in the first week of July.

“With the P2 million rent we are paying Victory Mall in a month, this would mean P24 million savings for the NBI. This savings can be used by the NBI for its other projects,” NBI Deputy Director for Technical Service Reynaldo Esmeralda said in an interview after the blessing of the building yesterday.

“After almost seven years of wandering from Carriedo in downtown Manila to Victory Mall in Caloocan City, the Clearance Processing System has finally returned home to the NBI headquarters where it now has an edifice of its own,” he said.
