MANILA, Philippines - The proposed Daang Hari-South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Link Road will be open for bidding on Monday, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced yesterday.
In a statement, DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson said only bidders who had prequalified based on minimum legal, technical, and financial requirements set by DPWH are invited to bid for the project.
“The P1.956 billion worth project would be awarded to a pre-qualified bidder through competitive public bidding following the rules and procedures prescribed under the BOT (Built-Operate-Transfer) Law,” said Singson.
The Daang Hari-SLEX Link Road project involves the construction of a new four-kilometer four-lane toll road from the junction of Daang Reyna and Daang Hari in Las Piñas and Bacoor, Cavite to SLEX through the Susana Heights Interchange in Muntinlupa.
The project would complement the Cavite-Laguna-East-West Highway and seen to ease traffic between the cities of Las Piñas and Muntinlupa and the province of Cavite, which is one of the most rapidly growing areas around Metro Manila, the DPWH said.
DPWH Undersecretary for Regional Operations Romeo Momo said the road link is expected to cut the travel time of motorists and decongest gridlock in Cavite, Las Piñas and Muntinlupa.
“The infrastructure is designed to cut travel time from Daang Hari to the Alabang interchange by up to 40 minutes,” he said.
