Retired cop stabbed in bus heist

MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City police are hunting down four male teenagers who stabbed a retired policeman after he tried to stop them from robbing the passengers of a bus along EDSA before midnight Wednesday.

Former Senior Police Officer 1 Nestor Miral, 56, is undergoing treatment at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center. He had been napping and was awakened by the commotion.

Malanday Metrolink bus driver Renato Briones said he and his passengers were divested of P10,000 in cash and valuables at knifepoint.
