Witnesses in Ramgen slay case to share reward money
MANILA, Philippines - At least five witnesses in the killing of Ram Revilla will share the P500,000 reward money offered by Sen. Ramon “Bong’’ Revilla for anyone with information that could lead to the resolution of the case.
Chief Inspector Enrique Sy, head of Task Force Ramgen (Revilla’s real name), said the senator “has approved” the “mode of payment,” as suggested by the police, for the recipients and the money is ready for distribution.
Sy said the money will be shared by star witness Ruel “Katcho” Puzon, Loyd “Lim” Comeda, Revilla’s aide Ronald Ancajas, and BF Homes security guards Joyrex Asimbrado and Niño Tabada.
Based on the “mode of payment,” the witnesses will get the full amount only after they have finished their testimonies in court. He said witnesses will get part of the reward money everytime they give their sworn statements, attend the hearings and testify in court.
“Pag ibinigay mo ng buo yan at hindi nag testify sa korte, bali wala lahat. Yung sworn statement magiging mere scrap of paper. Basura. (When you give them the full amount and they do not testify in court, their sworn statement will end up a mere scrap of paper. Rubbish),” he said.
Sy said the testimonies of the witnesses are “vital” in pinning down the seven suspects in the case, including Revilla’s younger siblings Ramona, 22, and Ramon Joseph, 18.
Ramona and Joseph – who were tagged as masterminds in the killings – have denied involvement in the case.
