SC denies Bar exam leakage

- Edu Punay -

MANILA, Philippines - The Supreme Court (SC) dismissed yesterday a report on the alleged leakage in the ongoing Bar exams that is set to conclude tomorrow at the University of Sto. Tomas in Manila.

SC spokesman Midas Marquez downplayed the report as “just plain rumor.”

“Every year, loose talks on ‘Bar tips’ circulate. However, they remain unsubstantiated and without bases,” he said in a statement.

Marquez cited a portion in the report about the involvement in the alleged leakage of a certain ‘Jess Mundo,’ probably referring to Sandiganbayan Justice Alex Gesmundo.

“Justice Gesmundo, however, is not an examiner in the 2011 Bar exam,” he stressed.

Citing independent sources, the report claimed that a piece of paper with the leaked questions was left in one of the classrooms where the examinations were being held.

The incident allegedly caused a commotion as some of the examinees got hold of the piece of paper containing the alleged actual Bar questions.
