Man sits in front of house, gets hit by stray bullet

MANILA, Philippines - A man sitting on a chair in front of his house in Caloocan City was hit by a stray bullet yesterday.

Raymond Espena, 21, was hit in the left forearm and brought to the Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

Police Officer 1 Michael Olpindo said residents were chasing a group of men seen trying to steal a vehicle parked in the area. When the car thieves were about to be cornered, they started shooting at their pursuers but hit Espena.

The residents brought the victim to the hospital while the thieves escaped.
