MANILA, Philippines - A female patient allegedly hung herself in a bathroom of a rehabilitation center in Quezon City Wednesday.
Senior Police Officer 2 Jaime Jimena said a nurse at the Timog Residence Homecare found Angelica Valmonte in the bathroom at around 7 p.m. Wednesday. Valmonte, of Talayan Village, reportedly used a cord and looped the other end onto a curtain rod.
The woman was reportedly brought to the center by her uncle in July last year for manic depression. During the past nine months, neither her uncle nor her relatives visited Valmonte, whose parents are reportedly abroad, police said.
At past 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Valmonte reportedly had dinner before she went for a shower. She never came out, prompting the staff to look for her.
A suicide note, allegedly written by Valmonte, indicated she wanted her remains cremated and her ashes “scattered into the South Pacific ocean,” Jimena said.
