MANILA, Philippines - An “empty” M67 grenade was found near a local health center in Guadalupe Nuevo, Makati City yesterday morning.
A tricycle driver found the “deteriorated” apple-type metal abandoned in front of a lying-in clinic on La Consolacion street at 6:30 a.m., said Chief Inspector Jenny Tecson, spokesperson of the Southern Police District (SPD).
A check made by the police’s explosive ordnance division show that the grenade was “empty” and “does not contain any detonator,” according to Superintendent Jaime Santos, city police officer-in-charge.
Tecson said the shell was brought to SPD for proper disposition.
