4 men rob bus along EDSA

MANILA, Philippines - Four men armed with handguns robbed the passengers of a bus along EDSA in Quezon City yesterday morning.

The robbers reportedly boarded the Malanday Metrolink bus (TWH-461) near Muñoz and declared the heist as the bus was in front of the Philam Homes Subdivision on EDSA’s southbound lane at past 7 a.m., according to Superintendent Audie Madrideo, commander of the Quezon City Police District Station 2.

Based on the police report, the robbers managed to get a cell phone, a Samsung Galaxy tablet and a few hundred pesos from the passengers. The robbers alighted from the bus when it neared Kamuning, and one robber fired a shot as he got off the bus, Madrideo said.

One of the victims identified one of the robbers from the police’s rogues’ gallery as alias “Jomar.”
