MANILA, Philippines - The city governments of Manila, Caloocan and Marikina have offered the free screening of the boxing match between Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez.
Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim said big screens will be set up in at least six sports centers for the live telecast of the fight. These are at the Del Pan Sports Complex; Patricia Sports Complex in Gagalangin, Tondo; Rasac Covered Court (Alvarez street corner Rizal Avenue); Dapitan Sports Complex in Sampaloc; San Andres Sports Complex; and Teresa Covered Court in Sta. Mesa.
Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman said there will also be a free screening of the Pacquiao-Marquez fight at the Marikina City Hall Freedom Park and Parang basketball court.
“We all know that Filipinos love boxing especially that Manny Pacquiao brings home the bacon in his every fight. We made this free broadcast of the fight to allow our residents to watch it together,” De Guzman said.
In Caloocan, Mayor Enrico Echiverri said they have designated 14 locations for the free screening of the boxing match.
These will be at the Victory Mall in Monumento; and the covered courts in Barangays 144, 152, 166, 168,176, 179, 187-188; Sta. Quiteria Elementary School; Bagumbong High School; Camarin High School; Pag-Asa Elementary School; and Camarin Elementary School.
