- Rhodina Villanueva -

MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City government has earmarked a total of P120 million for the construction of three buildings in line with the development and beautification next year of an educational institution in the city.

Mayor Herbert Bautista said that the city-owned Quezon City Polytechnic University (QCPU) will undergo infrastructure development in its main and extension campuses for it to provide better educational facilities to its more than 7,500 students.

The mayor said one administration building in the QCPU main campus in San Bartolome; one school building in its San Francisco campus; and one multi-purpose building in the Batasan campus will be built.

“The San Bartolome campus will also undergo landscaping next year to make it greener and environmentally-friendly to students,” he added.

Meanwhile, QCPU chairman Salvador Enriquez said the development and improvement of the city-owned university is a big step forward in facing challenges, including educational competition especially among other state universities and private colleges and universities in Metro Manila.

Enriquez said that in addition to the quality of education, QCPU should also not lag behind the quality of facilities and physical beauty of campuses of leading universities and colleges in Manila.
