MANILA, Philippines - The body of a teacher was found impaled on a steel fence of the University of the Philippines (UP) Integrated School along Katipunan Road in Barangay Pansol, Quezon City yesterday moring.
Charlot Fetalvero, 28, was discovered hanging from the fence by Danny Javier, who happened to pass by the area at around 5 a.m., according to investigator Police Officer 2 Jogene Hernandez. Her left armpit was pierced by one the fence’s angle bars.
Inspector Elmer Monsalve, chief of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said Fetalvero was believed to have jumped from a pedestrian overpass just above the fence.
Hernandez said Fetalvero taught in a school in her family’s home province in Romblon but had been staying at her parents’ house in Barangay Pansol for the past month. Her parents told police that their daughter was ill and had sought treatment.
The teacher was last seen alive when she left the house at around 2 a.m. yesterday and told her parents that she was going to jog around the UP campus.
The parents also noted that their daughter was also seen with her boyfriend on Sunday.
According to ABS-CBN, investigators have yet to determine whether the victim committed suicide. They have not dismissed the possibility that Fetalvero may have been pushed by a robber since there have been previous robberies reported on the overpass.
