Ex-con back in jail for molesting boy

MANILA, Philippines - An ex-convict who was released from prison last week was taken back to jail for molesting a boy in Caloocan City at past midnight Thursday.

The six-year-old boy told police he was walking home alone when Frederick Almonares, 31, called him and dragged him to a dark portion of Tanigue street in front of the Northern Police District headquarters. The boy said he was offered P5 to perform sexual favors on Almonares.

Some bystanders saw what the suspect was doing and brought him to the police for investigation. Sources said Almonares served two years for theft.
