Navotas cops rescue 3 teeners from girlie bar

- Pete Laude -

MANILA, Philippines - The Navotas City police rescued three young girls from a girlie bar and arrested their alleged recruiter during an operation Thursday in San Pablo City, Laguna.

Navotas City police chief Senior Superintendent Florendo Quibuyen said Edwin Bautista, 29, a resident of Dagat-Dagatan, also in Navotas, tagged as the recruiter of the 14, 15 and 16-year-old victims, will be charged with child abuse and exploitation and of violation of the anti-trafficking in person law.

Quibuyen said the parents of the victims sought the help of the Navotas City police after their daughters were recruited by Bautista to work as house helpers in San Pablo City, Laguna without their consent.

A team led by Senior Police Officer 1 Dominador Mariano and Senior Police Officer 1 Arlene Alvero, chief of the Navotas City police station women and children’s protection unit, in coordination with Laguna authorities, conducted a rescue operation at Over Stop Beerhouse in San Pablo City.
