Billboard case gets new judge

- Mike Frialde -

MANILA, Philippines - A case filed by the Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines (OAAP) against the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) over the agency’s alleged illegal removal of billboards was re-raffled yesterday to a new Makati regional trial court judge.

Judge Rommel BayBay of the Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 132 will replace Makati City RTC Branch 133 Judge Elpidio Calis.

The hearing on the OAAP’s petition to stop the MMDA from further removing billboards along EDSA and along major roads of Metro Manila was suspended after Calis granted the petition filed by the MMDA for his inhibition on Sept. 29.
