Man fatally hit by SUV

MANILA, Philippines - A man died after being hit by a sport utility vehicle while he was crossing along EDSA in Quezon City at past midnight yesterday. The victim has yet to be identified but police said he could be a homeless man. He died on the spot after being hit by a gray Mitsubishi Pajero (TCC-368) at around 12:30 a.m. along the north-bound lane of EDSA’s Aurora underpass in Cubao.

Traffic investigator Senior Police Officer 3 Henry Se said he described the victim to be about five feet in height, brown skinned, slim and wearing only a pair of brown short pants.

Se said they have in custody the driver of the Pajero, Pascual Ruel Jose, 26, a resident of Masambong, Quezon City. The Pajero was found registered to a certain Ruel Raymund Jose.
