- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines - Government agents rescued two minors and six female workers, and arrested a floor manager during a raid Tuesday at a nightclub in Manila.

The raid at the Shine 2010 KTV bar located at 3038 Santol Extension was conducted by members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in reaction to reports that young girls were allegedly pimped to customers for P1,000.

Superintendent Emma Libunao, of the CIDG’s Women and Children Protection Division, led the raiding team.

CIDG chief Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr. said a certain Diara Sangbabaan of San Isidro, Magalang, Pampanga sought the assistance of the CIDG last Sept. 20 to rescue her 16-year-old niece, who worked as entertainer at the bar.
