MANILA, Philippines - An 18-year-old suspected robber ended up in jail after his 40-year-old victim followed him to a mall and in Parañaque City and had him arrested Sunday night.

Abet Santos was charged with robbery yesterday before the city prosecutor’s office for allegedly robbing Raul Bolo at knifepoint while the victim was walking along the West Service Road in Bicutan at around 7:45 p.m. Sunday.

According to Chief Inspector Charlie Sy, head of the city police investigation unit, Bolo was so determined to get back his P5,000 cellular phone that he trailed Santos until they reached a mall in Bicutan, where Bolo asked the help of security guard July Kagalawan, who apprehended Santos.

Bolo’s cell phone and the knife allegedly used in the robbery were found in Santos’ possession.
