Lawyer loses SUV to carjackers

MANILA, Philippines - Five carjackers armed with handguns took a sport utility vehicle from a lawyer in Barangay Pio del Pilar, Makati City before dawn yesterday.

A report from the Southern Police District (SPD) said lawyer Daiza Anne Ong, 28, was driving her dark blue Toyota Fortuner (ZMR-243) home with her passenger, lawyer Louie Brian Sze, 26, when the carjackers cut into their path along Mayor street.

Police said the carjackers ordered the two out of the vehicle and then drove away. The SPD has ordered its teams to look for the stolen car.

Makati police officer-in-charge Superintendent Jaime Santos, when asked to comment on the carjacking, said he does not know much about the incident.
