Trike driver molests homeless woman, teenage girl

MANILA, Philippines - A 41-year-old tricycle driver was arrested yesterday after he reportedly molested a homeless woman and a teenage girl in Caloocan City.

Arturo Cedones allegedly groped the woman as she was sleeping under a waiting shed near the Kaunlaran Elementary School in Dagat-Dagatan at around 3:45 a.m. Sunday, Police Officer 2 Marissa Santos said.

The woman said the suspect ran away when she woke up, but she was able to see his face clearly.

At around the same time yesterday, Cedones was arrested by village watchmen as he was fleeing the house of a 13-year-old girl he allegedly tried to molest, according to Senior Inspector Allan Emlano.

The girl said the suspect entered her house and tried to undress her. She said she woke up, fought him off and shouted for help.

The victims identified Cedones as their attacker.

Cedones was charged with acts of lasciviousness and detained after he failed to post the P92,000 bail recommended by the prosecutor’s office.
