3 dead in Pasig road mishap

-

MANILA, Philippines - At least three people were killed when a sport utility vehicle (SUV) reportedly rear-ended a passenger jeepney in Pasig City before dawn yesterday, according to a GMA News report.

Initial reports state that the collision occurred along E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue, near the boundary between Pasig and Quezon City.

Police are verifying information that the jeepney suddenly stopped to unload a passenger when the SUV – identified by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority as a Honda CRV – hit it from behind. The CRV’s brakes allegedly failed.

Two of the victims were from the CRV, while the third was initially identified as Brian Deano, a chemical engineering student who was on his way to Cubao to fetch his mother, who arrived from Camarines Norte.
