Suspected drug pusher, partner killed
MANILA, Philippines - A woman suspected of being a drug peddler and her partner were shot dead in their rented apartment in Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City Monday night.
Police Officer 3 Roland Belgica said the woman, identified only as “Jenny,” suffered two gunshot wounds in the chest and three more in her left arm while Abdulasiz Kimura sustained gunshot wounds in the head.
Belgica said Jenny disappeared while she was under surveillance by the Quezon City Police District Station 6.
The couple’s neighbor, Angelita Balunggaya, said she was watching television when she heard shots coming from the couple’s apartment on the second floor. She said she saw two men run down the stairs and to a dimly lit alley. She informed village officials, who found the couple’s bodies.
Belgica said Jenny may have gone into hiding after running into trouble with a group engaged in the illegal drug trade. He said the couple had been renting the apartment for the past two months but were scheduled to leave on Sept. 15 because they could no longer pay rent.
Neighbors told police the woman was never seen leaving the rented house except to buy food.
