Driver robbed of cab, earnings

MANILA, Philippines - A 65-year-old taxi driver lost his cab and earnings to a passenger he picked up in Malate, Manila who asked to be brought to Navotas City.

Senior Police Officer 1 Resty Castillo said Bonifacio Sandoval, driver of Sturdy taxi (UVJ-743) related that the passenger pulled a .38 caliber revolver upon reaching Lapu-Lapu Avenue in Barangay North Bay Boulevard South in Navotas. The gunman then took the driver’s wallet containing his earnings and his bag that contained personal documents.

The gunman then asked Sandoval to get off his cab and drove off with the taxi. The victim described the suspect as around 30 to 40 years old with fair complexion, around 5’6 to 5’8 in height and wearing a white t-shirt and denim pants.
