MANILA, Philippines - Police investigators and doctors are puzzled over the mysterious death of a 56-year-old German national who had just arrived in the country with his Filipina wife.
Werner Adolf Nordotti, a retired electrician from Osnadrick, Germany, reportedly died Monday morning at the Manila Medical Center, where he was rushed by his wife, Rowena, after he complained of severe pain on the left side of his body.
According to SPO1 Gerardo Rivera, Rowena said her husband accidentally slipped at the airport in Bahrain Friday during their two-day stopover on their way to the Philippines.
Nordotti’s blood pressure reportedly shot up while they were on the airplane, and he was rushed to the San Juan de Dios Hospital upon arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Doctors declared him fit and well, and the couple checked in at the Aloha Hotel.
Rivera said Rowena brought her husband to the nearest hospital when she saw him having difficulty breathing the following morning.
Rivera said the results of the autopsy on Nordotti’s body have yet to be released.
