Fish vendor, wanted for drugs, arrested in Pasay market

- Bebot Sison Jr., Cecille Suerte Felipe -

MANILA, Philippines - A fish vendor, who had been wanted for four years for allegedly selling drugs in Iloilo, was arrested over the weekend in a Pasay City market.

Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr. said Dexter Pesasico has been hiding from the law since 2007.

In his report to Pagdilao, Senior Superintendent Ronald Estilles, chief of the CIDG-Anti-Organized Crime Division, said Pesasico was arrested while manning his stall at the fish section of the Pasay Public Market located at the corner of Libertad street and Taft Avenue.

Estilles said Pesasico was charged for maintenance of a drug den, possession and sale of dangerous drugs.

“He previously eluded several operations conducted by different law enforcement agencies and eventually went in Manila to hide for four years,” he added.

Last Saturday, Estilles’ men, led by Superintendent Leo Quevedo, served a warrant for Pesasico’s arrest, issued by Iloilo Judge Victor Helvezon.
