MANILA, Philippines - A barangay youth council chairman was killed in a freak accident while test-driving a newly acquired motorcycle of the barangay council Wednesday night in Malate, Manila.
Julius Caezar Catipon, 16, Samahang Kabataan chairman of Barangay 720, Zone 78 in Leveriza, Malate, and a fourth year high school student, was driving the motorcycle in the Paraiso ng Batang Maynila park when cable wires protruding from concrete barriers on the sidewalk caught him by the neck. He fell off the motorcycle.
His back rider, Abednigo Agustin, 16, was thrown forward and is under observation at the Ospital ng Maynila for head injuries.
