7 boys bolt Caloocan holding center
MANILA, Philippines - At least seven boys housed in the Caloocan City Hall’s holding center for children in conflict with the law escaped Thursday night.
Sources at the city hall said the seven boys, including two brothers, managed to open the windows and escape the Yakap Bata Holding Center at past 10 p.m. There were 37 detainees prior to the incident.
Insiders said this is not the first time that wards escaped from the center, which is headed by Rowena Drilon and is under the care of the city social welfare department headed by Malou Galvan.
Sources told The STAR the two brothers have been found and taken back to the center. Asked to comment on the incident, sources said Drilon was reportedly ill and Galvan was out on field.
