Quezon City fire leaves 300 families homeless

- Reinir Padua -

MANILA, Philippines - At least 300 families were rendered homeless in a fire in Barangay Escopal, Project 4, Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

Senior Fire Officer 2 Fortunato Alde said some P6 million worth of properties were also destroyed in the blaze, which started at a house owned by the Dulay family along Burgos Street.

Alde said they are still investigating the cause of the fire but a neighbor of the Dulays claimed a fallen kerosene lamp caused the flames to quickly spread in the house. The fire, which was reported to have started at 2:35 a.m. was put out at around 5:30 a.m.
