NCRPO bans civilian jackets for cops in uniform

- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines -  Police officers in Metro Manila can no longer wear civilian jackets over their police uniform, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Chief Superintendent Alan Purisima said yesterday.

He said he issued a directive banning their use due to “many cases involving criminals wearing police uniform covered with a jacket.”

Purisima also reminded police officers driving motorcycles to refrain from wearing unauthorized jackets, including the top of the police camouflage uniform. He said those violating his directive will be penalized.

He encouraged police officers to wear the prescribed Philippine National Police jacket identified by the PNP uniform and equipment standardization board, and to make sure their namecloth or nameplate is visible at all times.
