3 rob bus along Roxas Boulevard
MANILA, Philippines - Three men robbed the passengers of a bus along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City before dusk Monday.
Joncy Lines conductor Jason Apresurado, 23, said one of the robbers boarded the bus at Baclaran church, while two others got on along MIA Road.
Apresurado said a gunshot rang while they were traversing the stretch of Roxas Boulevard. “Then, the three men declared the heist in front of San Juan de Dios Hospital (in Pasay City),” he said in an interview. The bus runs from Tanza, Cavite to Lawton in Manila.
A man, described by Apresurado as “tall and thin,” pointed his gun at the driver’s face and “commanded him to keep moving.” The same man also pistol-whipped one of the passengers because “the passenger was slow to give up his belongings.”
The two others, meanwhile, looted the eight passengers.
Senior Police Officer 1 Joel Landicho pegged the value of the stolen belongings at P20,000. These include bags, cell phones, cash and jewelry, among others. Apresurado said the heist lasted less than 10 minutes. The robbers alighted in front of the Department of Foreign Affairs building.
