- Reinir Padua -

MANILA, Philippines - A woman ended up in jail after she allegedly tried bribing a police investigator to free her partner, who was being held for motorcycle theft, Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent George Regis said yesterday.

Regis said Rochelle Fuentes faces charges of corruption of a public official after she allegedly offered P5,000 to Senior Police Officer 2 Pio Torrecampo on July 22 in exchange for the release of Jerome Caindoy.

Caindoy was arrested the previous day for allegedly driving a stolen Honda Beat motorcycle in Barangay Old Balara. Regis said the motorcycle Caindoy was driving bore a license plate that was issued to a Mitsukoshi motorcyle, while the real license plate of the motorcycle in Caindoy’s possession was issued to Oscar Samonte Jr.
