P167-M droga winasak ng PDEA

MANILA, Philippines - Aabot sa P167,000,000 milyong halaga ng ipinagbabawal at expired na gamot ang winasak ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) kahapon. 

Ayon kay PDEA Director General Undersecretary Jose S. Gutierrez, Jr. ang naturang aktibidad ay alinsunod sa ipinapatupad na batas ang Republic Act 9165, o ang Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, at ang Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No.1 series of 2002 na namamahala sa pag-iingat at disposisyon ng mga nasamsam na mapa­nganib na mga gamot, mga kemikal at mga laboratoryo.

Kabilang sa sinirang droga ang Opium poppy seeds (2.59 tons), shabu (8.9 kilograms), cocaine (4 kilograms), tuyong dahon ng marijuana (37 kilograms) kasama ang iba pang mapa­nganib at expired na gamot.

Kasama sa aktibidad sina Senator Vicente Sotto III, mga miyembro ng House Committee on Dangerous Drugs sa pangunguna ni Rep. Vicente Belmonte; at Secretary Antonio Villar, chairman ng Dangerous Drugs Board.
