3 face raps for barangay chairman's murder

MANILA, Philippines - Police filed murder charges yesterday against the self-confessed gunman and his two alleged cohorts in the recent ambush-slay of a former barangay chairman in Tondo.

Inspector Armando Macaraeg, head of the homicide section of the Manila Police District named the accused as Jungie Ramos, 42; and Brando Mendoza and Ronaldo Yzon. Mendoza and Yzon remain at large.

Ramos has confessed his participation in the ambush of Medardo Antazo, 58, chairman of Barangay 255 Zone 23, District 2 on July 11 at the corner o f Quiricada street and Rizal Avenue. He said he and Mendoza were contracted by Yzon to kill Antazo for P50,000.
