MANILA, Philippines - A 32-year-old German man who allegedly molested 14 women will soon be deported back to his country, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said yesterday.
In a statement, BI Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. said Michael Heeren was arrested last July 12 in Barangay Poblacion, Dalaguet, Cebu City.
He is detained at the immigration jail in Bicutan, Taguig pending the issuance of an order for his deportation by the BI board of commissioners.
BI intelligence officer Uso Dan Salisim, BI fugitive search unit head, said Hereen was vacationing with his eight-year-old daughter in Cebu when he was arrested.
“The child was turned over to the custody of the German embassy, which will arrange her trip back to Germany,” Salisim said.
Hereen’s estranged wife had complained to authorities that her ex-husband absconded with their child and fled to the Philippines.
Records show that Heeren is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Court of Criminal Procedure in Emden, Germany, where he was charged with 14 cases of sexual assault and molestation.
