Sa kanyang pagsasalita, sinabi ni Belmonte na, “I have been working in Manila for the past 24 years. I spend most of my waking hours in Manila and thus it has truly become a second home for me. I thank Mayor Alfredo Lim and the City of Manila for embracing me as a son of the city and for giving me this great honor of being one of the ‘Ten Outstanding Manilans’ this year. It is truly an honor and privilege for me to be counted among such a highly esteemed and respected group of awardees.”

Raul Bacalzo, public service and law enforcement/criminal justice system and police administration; Nina Lim-Yuson, culture and values formation; Andrew Tan, business entrepreneurship and management; Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales, law and jurisprudence; Atty. Felipe Gozon, social responsibility in broadcasting; Fr. Jose Arcilla S.J., education and history at Emilio Yap III, objective journalism.

“By recognizing these Manilans for their exemplary achievement, the city government and its officialdom hold them up for emulation by others, even as appreciation is extended to them for what they have done for Manila and its people,” ayon naman kay Lim.
