MANILA, Philippines - Pasay City government operatives raided yesterday morning a popular exotic pet market in Cartimar and confiscated threatened and endangered animal species.
A police report said among those seized were rare pigeon doves, reptiles and tarantula spiders.
The confiscated animals were brought to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-National Capital Region (DENR-NCR) office for safekeeping. Cartimar market is also a popular source of exotic aquarium fish and other aquatic creatures.
