NCRPO pushes alarms, cameras in dentists' clinics
MANILA, Philippines - Dentists should install alarms and surveillance cameras in their clinics to deter a criminal from robbing or molesting them, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Chief Superintendent Alan Purisima said yesterday.
He said they are closely coordinating with the Philippine Dental Association to stop the attacks on female dentists. At least six attacks have been recorded since April.
Purisima said closed-circuit television cameras record all transactions in the clinics and would help investigators identify the suspect. He also said dentists can install an alarm system connected to the nearest police station – a push of a button would bring uniformed police officers to the scene.
The NCRPO also said dentists should have comprehensive files on their patients, including photographs, and have a good relationship with their neighbors. They also suggested that dentists hire security guards or male assistants.
