Call center employee robbed, stabbed dead

MANILA, Philippines - A call center employee was stabbed dead and robbed Saturday in Mandaluyong City by her four male visitors, including her supposed boyfriend whom she met on the social networking site Facebook.

Maria Luisa Dominguez- Laquindanum, 44, Lady Human Resource personnel of the I TECH Call Center Company sustained 26 stab wounds in different parts of her body.

The victim’s hogtied and bloodied body, her face covered by a blanket, was found on her bed in a rented room at No.22-D. Coronado Heights, Barangay Barangka Ibaba. Rosalia Panlilio, the victim’s roommate, discovered the crime when she arrived home from work Saturday.

Senior Superintendent Armando Bolalin, Mandalu­yong City police chief said they are hunting down a certain Rafi to shed light on the incident.

Cristina Dominguez-Cura, said the last time she heard from her sister was when she told her she was going to meet her boyfriend Rafi, whom she met on Facebook.

“She even asked me to have a look at her boyfriend on Facebook but I was not able to do so because I’m busy attending to my work of washing clothes,” Cura told police investigators.

Inspector Jaime Masilang, chief of the criminal investigation unit (CIU) of the Mandaluyong police said the room of the victim showed signs that she was expecting the arrival of her boyfriend. The “adobo” that the boyfriend was said to have requested the victim to cook for him was in a table in the room.

Initial investigation showed that Rafi and his three companions arrived at the victim’s residence at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Witnesses said the suspects emerged from the victim’s room at about 11 p.m. They were carrying several bags believed to contain two laptops worth P54,000 which were later found missing from the victim’s room.
