Manila, Philippines - Lawyers for both the defense and prosecution panel have asked the fiscal hearing the complaints in connection with the death of journalist Lourdes "Chit" Simbulan to subpoena the footage of two other closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras along Commonwealth Avenue.
Salvador Panelo, who represents bus driver Daniel Espinosa of Universal Guiding Star said yesterday he was supporting the move of Arnold Sanidad, who is representing the Simbulan family to ask for a subpoena on the footage of two other CCTV cameras.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority earlier said one of their CCTV camera was not working on the night of Simbulan's death on May 13.
But Panelo said there are two other CCTV cameras in the area and the footage would be able to show what happened during the accident.
Espinosa, whose bus rammed into the taxicab that carried Simbulan on the night of the accident, is facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property and homicide; hit and run and abandonment of one's victim.
Also slapped with the same complaints were cab driver Vito Jagunos, who drove for Simbulan, and bus driver Victor Ancheta of Nova Auto Transport bus, whose unit was the first one to allegedly hit the cab driven by Jagunos.
