807 new police recruits take oath
MANILA, Philippines – A total of 807 police recruits were sworn in yesterday by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Chief Superintendent Alan Purisima.
Purisima said the recruits would undergo a six-month Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) then another six-month Field Training Program (FTP) under the NCRPO Training School before they could be incorporated into the Metro Manila police force.
“Congratulations to our new police officers. It is our pride to welcome them to the PNP (Philippine National Police) organization, and to NCRPO in particular. They are indeed a big boost to our organization as they assume police responsibility. Soon enough, they will be one with us in our mission to protect the public,” Purisima said as he administered the oath of office of the recruits at the NCRPO grandstand.
The new batch of recruits is composed of 128 females and 679 males.
There were a total of 1,849 applicants in the NCRPO’s recruitment program but only 807 passed the rigid screening conducted by the regional screening committee.
