Mison appointed to BI

MANILA, Philippines - Lawyer Siegfried Mison was appointed associate commissioner of the Bureau of Immigration (BI), Justice Secretary Leila de Lima announced yesterday.

Mison, son of former National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) director Mariano Mison, took his oath of office before De Lima yesterday morning.

De Lima said Mison was her personal choice and that she convinced him to accept the post.

“I know him to be a very idealistic guy. He’s young, a crusader of many causes. I think he will have a good relationship with Commissioner (Ricardo) David,” she told reporters in a press conference. The BI is an attached agency of the Department of Justice.
