MANILA, Philippines -  A woman about to board a passenger jeepney died and 13 people were hurt when a mixer truck collided with the jeepney in Taguig City yesterday afternoon.

Police Officer Luthgarda Osea said those hurt, including the jeepney driver, sustained minor injuries and were rushed to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital and Rizal Medical Center.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Tomas Apolinario said the Pasay City-bound jeepney was passing through the intersection of the East Service Road and C-5 Road at past 5 p.m. when the mixer truck (RGH-586) driven by Ignacio Ballescas lost its brakes and hit the jeepney’s right side.

Nurse Gerald Santos of Taguig-Pateros District Hospital said all of the patients are adults and none are in critical condition.
