PNP provides security for Pilar
MANILA, Philippines - Authorities have provided security for veteran actress Pilar Pilapil, who survived an attacked allegedly masterminded by her sister-in-law in Antipolo City last month.
Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao Jr., director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said they decided to give security to Pilapil in response to her request although there is no obvious or clear threat to her life.
Pilapil was attacked inside the car of her sister-in-law Rosel Jacosalem Peñas in Marikina City and was left for dead in Antipolo City last April 14.
Pagdilao said Pilapil is determined to pursue the case against Peñas. But he said his agents could not yet arrest Peñas in the absence of a warrant of arrest against her.
“She (Pilapil) is serious. The fact that the case has been filed and she’s participating in the process just shows her interest in the case and in the eventual arrest of Rosel,” he said.
