MANILA, Philippines - A total of 21 persons were hurt in two separate road accidents in Parañaque City yesterday.

At around 5:30 a.m., a delivery truck and a minibus collided along Roxas Boulevard, pinning 31-year-old Princess Magdasal – who was crossing the street – between the two vehicles. She was reported to be in critical condition at the San Juan de Dios Hospital.

Seven bus passengers were hurt in the collision and rushed to the Parañaque Community Hospital.

At around 2:30 p.m., 14 persons were hurt in a four-vehicle pileup along Coastal Road.

Chief Inspector Percival Pineda said Arnaldo Bustamante’s passenger jeepney lost its brakes, and he hit an airport-bound Nissan Caravan. The van’s seven passengers, who were supposed to fly to Samar province, were rushed to the San Juan de Dios Hospital.

Because of the impact, the van hit another passenger jeepney, which slammed into an L-300 van. The three vehicles were reportedly at full stop.

Pineda said Bustamante and his six passengers were also hurt in the incident.

On Monday, 15 persons were also injured along Coastal Road when a bus lost its brakes as it was approaching the toll booth.
