MANILA, Philippines - A barangay tanod sent her husband and his alleged mistress to jail after she caught them in bed in Mandaluyong City Saturday.
Laura Garcia, 51, who has four children by her husband, Virgilio, 57, said they have been living apart for 21 years because of his womanizing. Virgilio, however, asked for forgiveness and promised to mend his ways last Nov. 5, 2010.
Because she still loved him, Laura welcomed Virgilio back and helped him land a job at a construction firm in Sta. Ana, Manila. He was faithful in going home until May 28, when he told Laura he was staying with his sister at a rented house in Mandaluyong.
Accompanied by her children, Laura decided to pay Virgilio a visit and they found him in bed with his alleged lover, Arlene Enot, 42.
Laura and her children filed a formal complaint against Virgilio and Enot, and had them put in jail.
Police said the two will be charged with concubinage and adultery, respectively.
In his detention cell, Virgilio claimed he no longer loves his wife, and will continue living with Enot once he posts bail. Enot, however, said Virgilio should return to his family as she has decided to go home to Mindanao to be with her child by him.
